hi all,,
An 1822 one cent n-14 is listed as an high r7, 5 known, if a new example was found , in say a AG grade and counterstamped, what do you think it would bring at auction?
Thanks

The 1825 N-5 that was recently found brought $30,000. It supposedly wasn't in great shape and was bought on ebay for $13.

My guess for a counterstamped AG 22 N-14 would be in the $2,000 - $3,000 range, probably closer to the lower end. I believe there are seven of them now.

If the coin on the left is yours, would definitely like to see some better pics. Of course, to positively identify N-14, both sides are needed, as both the obverse and reverse dies were used in other marriages.

Just read this on n-14 on coinfacts
'The reverse die of this variety was also used on:
1821 Newcomb 1'
No other use of reverse in 1822

I can't really see anything on the left image, the right image (if it is a 22) is a N-14. And you are right the rev of N-14 is not used with any other obv in 22.

The right image appears to be the pic from coinfacts.
