SsuperDdave mentioned this in another post.
Which immediately had me going .Which I do often when
reading some of the posts here.
So after some research,it brought to mind several questions.
I see there is software out there to extract this info.
Does this software give you more info than right clicking image, clicking properties and details?
When editing RAW images and the software displays camera settings,is this Exif data?
When posting pictures here would posting this data better enable someone to give a better response or does it matter?
Is this info only relevant if you are the one doing the edit?

regards

Exif data is embedded in every image; it describes the camera settings, date/time, bit depth, etc. It's easily found by right-clicking the filename in Windows, as you've noticed, and additional software is not necessary. It's imperative to have this data when evaluating one's imaging results; how would we know what to advise as regards changes if we didn't know the current settings?

Of course, you wouldn't necessarily expect someone wandering in here for the first time ever to already know exactly what we'd need in terms of information; Exif is one of those things I like to take every opportunity to mention, even if just for the benefit of those who might be reading and not posting.
