Price got too high for me to attempt a bid, but wow that's a perfect partial brockage coin if I've ever seen one. Such a beauty.

Nice! Curious to know what caused it though.

Haha yeah that price definitely got out of control, way over what I thought it would end at.

...that, in addition to being struck through a die cap. I haven't yet looked through error-ref, but I do believe that this error could have occurred in multiple different ways. I get confused with all the different types of brockages and clashed die caps and such anyways...

I was also watching this error, not because I was planning to purchase it, but because a week earlier the seller had another example just like it - from a later strike. I just took a look at both, and the winner of the first example bid the second one up, but wasn't able to win it. It's too bad, as the first buyer would have had a very cool progression set!

Here is that first auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2000-Lincol...047675.l2557
There's quite a difference in the ending bid, especially since they are the same error. This is a good illustration as to the desirability of an early-stage brockage,(or partial brockage in this case).

That was at best a $15 to $20 error.

That's exactly what I was thinking, it looked to be struck through a die cap in addition to the partial brockage. I was also keeping track to see if that other guy was going to win this auction, that would have been really cool to have those two together.

If you're ever selling errors, let me know!
