Ive gotten quite chummy with the teller at my local US bank, she has no problem going into the vault once a week for 2 $25 boxes. Does anyone know if there is a limit to how many you can buy / how often? I'm hand sorting for my collection and even so, 2500 goes pretty quick. And sorry in advance if there is a similar post on here :/

There's no limit on how often you can buy, it's pretty much how much will the tellers give you. Make sure you go around to all different banks. Even asking for the rolls they have on hand is a good way to start. This should yield LOTS of rolls of coins.

Dont dump them at the same bank you get them from either or the bank you usually go too. Some banks wont be happy about that if you do

I would imagine that if you start asking for more that they will tire of you quickly. Are you just looking for wheats or also looking for varieties/errors ?

Every bank has its own standards/rules/regs/policies/procedures and tellers sometimes have their own, too. I've found that talking to and developing a cordial relationship
with the head teller was the best way for me to deal most expeditiously with my bank. In addition to that, I've been treated far better by my CU than by my commercial bank.
I call her up and place my request for what boxes I want to pick up the next week so I don't deplete the amount of coin the branch needs to keep on hand for the week.

As said above, grabbing loose rolls from different banks is "under the radar" and generally doesn't arouse teller ire. As also said above, it's best to not dump where you pick up.

If you know someone with a commercial business account for a retail business who wouldn't mind helping out they could order more boxes because they use more change.

Yeah I have been spacing it out, limit one time a week per bank. I think that's fair enough? 52Raymo, I am looking for : Copper pennies, Wheats, Decent shape memorial cents for my family's coin books, Canadian cents, or anything else unusual.
Freddy, I have also find that I am treated the best at CU's. They may not have much on hand (at least the ones in my town, they are quite small), but always willing to help.
