For these coins, they could have been faked or replicas made over 30 years ago. If the 1921 5 cent is actually in nice shape, I'd be more inclined to suspect it is fake.

Thanks for the tip. Is ICCS the way to go? I've read other post suggesting to use PCGS. That was a concern of mine though, shipping the coins. Will they grade it right on site and put it in one of their sleeves?

you have to call ICCS first and set up a walk in appointment they charge an extra fee, but done instantly. If you plan to sell in Canada, ICCS will be fine, if you sell in US need PCGS but lots of shipping insurance and logistic problems

Are you able to post pictures? I think you will receive better advice if people can view these coins? Especially the 2 higher value ones..

I agree with the others. You will be not regret posting the pictures here. The last thing you want is to agree to pay ICCS a bunch of money for a private grading session to discover the coins are fakes or replicas.

...and if you can't post pics...(for now), then why not give us a partial list of other high grade "key dates" that you also have in this interesting new collection..

What other key dates should I look for? I did see a 1973 quarter large bust. I guess that is a variety, not a key date. Is that right? How can a fake be determined? What to look out for? It's definitely silver, tarnished a bit like silver does.

There will just be things that are different about it. It might not be silver, it might not be the proper weight, the obverse or reverse might not have the right pattern, the lettering could be wrong, etc. There's tons of things

These are all highly sought after key coins. These are also highly counterfitted coins. Not saying that these ones are, but I would strongly advise to have them certified. Un-certified key date coins of this nature scare collectors. I'm not skilled enough to judge them by the pictures, others may be. But my advise....Get them certified!
