I can see the die chip on the "E" in Liberty but I'm not to sure what to make of the crack on Lincoln's head . Any ideas ?

The die chip on the E in LIBERTY makes it a BIE error. The die crack on the head I think might be a cracked skull variety? Nice find.

WOW ! You learn something new everyday . Both of those error's on one coin . Very nice . I inspected this one very closely and it does look like it was cleaned , but still a keeper .

The die crack on the head isn't a variety. It is the result of an over used die. In order for it to be a variety, it would have to be there from the first coin struck. The mint over used the dies in the 1950's past normal retirement.
