Hey everyone just looking for some opinions on the following coin concerning grade. In my opinion it would be EF primarily because it looks like there is very little wear on it particularly on the kings headband although the emu does seem a little bit worn. The second one is from another dealer who a couple of you recommended a while ago advertised as EF+ which looks around right

Actually the more I look at the coin the more confused I am I mean the emu is a bit worn and the headband isn't really EF but the fields are for the majority very clean not what you would expect from a VF coin. The more I look at it the more I think you are right stevo

Stevo is spot on, it's only gVF. The cleanliness is because it's been cleaned.

Good VF for the 1921 shilling is still a very desirable and rare coin and
they are hard to find in higher grade so there is nothing wrong with snapping
a few of these up until you can upgrade

Yeah I know but the problem with the first one was it had a price tag of $900 anyway do you think the second would make gEF I think the pearls to the left are present but only faintly otherwise IMO looks around right

$1500 is way too much.I picked up a aEF 1921 shilling on ebay
a few months ago for $285 and I deliberated over it for a week
before I pulled the trigger and it has 8 clear pearls.Even so
the coins you have pictured are still good coins but just way overpriced

Here's a moderately priced example

To get value into perspective, an original EF is worth about $900:

A cleaned aEF is worth about $300:

A cleaned gVF would be worth about $250.

Far out I can not believe the luck I am having in finding one Found three advertised as EF one was cleaned one was gVF and another was also gVF I am just astounded that dealers can get it so wrong all ANDA members and in a row at that!! Thanks everyone for your help and I am now convinced that there is only one real good dealer in Tony Byrne and should only really buy from him.

There are good dealers out there. Tony is one of them. wwwww himself is up there with the best too, with his online auctions.
Either way just remember that rare coins, are rare coins.
Ask yourself how some dealers manage to have every coin regardless of rarity, in every grade when you ask of them, but they rarely show up in auctions?

Best to take your time, and the coin you want will eventually show up.
