2007 LMC - Struck Through @ FG?

Is this some kind of struck through error or something else. Just trying to label it correctly. The G in FG is obliterated. It doesn't look like a normal Struck Through Grease error. It sort of looks like a crater. It has some depth to it. The bottom of the "crater" has horizontal scratches like die polishing scratches. Thanks all.

I am thinking someone took a drill bit to it. Looks like surface scratches both to the north and south of crater. Man made in my opinion. Not an expert opinion.
