Since we are no longer able to get cents from the banks for roll searching anymore here in Canada...I have been working to get the word out to various charities in the area that I'm willing to buy their cents off them from the "Penny Drives" they have going. SO far...it has worked out pretty well. I just recently picked up $286 in cents from one charity. Yesterday I had another charity contact me letting me know their drive will be over at the end of the month and they will sell me their cents collected. Another charity called me today and has $50 in cents ready for me to come and get this week. I tell them that they do not have to roll them which they like. They can either count them or use the plastic measured bags that the banks have to determine how many they have.

Should keep me in cents for a bit at least.

Nice..

A lot of people are getting rid of all the cents they have and, sometimes one can find a couple of treasures.

Hope you get a few.

I still have $125 of the $286 I'm going through now. I will get the $50 on Thursday and the next batch at the end of the month. The charity I picked the $286 up from has an ongoing penny drive and I will be getting them on a bi-weekly basis as well.

I found 2 x 2006 No P No Logos last week and 2 x 1985 pointed 5's along with several other minor errors and varieties. I have also started keeping coins that have eye appeal to me to make date rolls from. Keeps me busy.

Thanks SHAFTA9a. I hope to pull a few as well. Still need the 1922 - 1925. They have eluded me.

Yeah.. It's very difficult to find those dates in big batches of cents but, it does happen.

I had to get a few of those ones on ebay..

I always watch in stores when I'm shopping and the like. I look on the counters for jugs and jars for charities and the like who are collecting coinage. Then I get in contact with the charities and explain that I'm a collector and would like to buy their cents off them. I explain that it helps them as well as me as they do not have to cart them off to the bank. I also tell them that they do not need to roll them (If they were rolling them. All they need is a count of how many they have. If they are rolling them...I explain to them about the bags you can get for free from the banks that have the $25 line on the bag. I have showed a few how to use the bags to make sure that there is $25 in it. All that they can say is No. It can't hurt. I actually pay one charity $27 per $25 worth. That way they make a few more $$ for charity and if you find something it was worth it.
