I wanted to know if the black area across the rear legs is a struck through or lamination error? Thanks!

Have you looked at this one at magnification? From this angle it looks like tar or old residue of some sort. When you look at it with a loupe, does it appear to be pressed into the planchet?

Looks like above the surface to my eyes. Meaning not a mint error, but happened after the coin left the mint.
