I thought about buying this coin, but I was really concerned about the mark on the "t" in Liberty. So, what does everyone think about this one? It's a beautiful looking coin, but there is some wear around the hair and the top of the hair looks either worn or lightly struck. It was being sold as brilliant uncirculated in raw form.

Hard to tell from the photos if this is a BU coin. In particular would like to see a close-up of the "Liberty" to better know what's going on there.

Between this and the thread in the Main forum, I'm inclined to advise passing on this one. They're too common to worry about a potential problem coin.

That's why I didn't bid on it. It sold for $76, which seems kind of high based on other coins I've seen for sale.

I might cut loose that kind of money for a similar coin, but it better be problem-free.

And clashed.

I agree about that black spot being detrimental to the eye appeal. It's a common coin and easy to find with no problems in just about any grade.
