What is your favorite half dollar? For me its the Ben Franklin half. When I was a child living in Chicago around 1967, one of the kids in my class brought these cool shiny coins to school and gave them out. This went on for about a week. I would get this half dollar and I went and spent them at the local candy store. I didn't save one of them. I remember how happy the clerk at the candy store was when we came into the store to buy candy. It wasn't until many years later I found out. By the end of the week this kids mother came to school trying desperately trying to get her collection back. We had to tell her and the teacher what we did with the money. She didn't have any luck getting them back as far as I know. Ben Franklin halves Rock!! Tell us why your halves are favorites. javascript:insertsmilie(' ') "LOVE THE HUNT!"

Are you talking about which series or which particular coin is your favorite? My 2 favorite particular halves are these 2. I missed out on a similar SLQ on ebay a few weeks ago because I was too busy watching tv instead of the auction.

Which Half not series. Ben Franklin wasn't even a president and got himself on both Coins and Bills. Who is the face of the Barber Half and who is the Walking liberty designed after. I believe Ben Franklin was the first millionaire?

Believe it or not both are lady liberty even though she looks like a middle linebacker on Barber coins. Dont get me wrong though I do love barbers, but femininity didnt seem to be at the top of the design list

Is that because of the value or you like the design? It is defiantly a cool coin. Wish I had some of those. I have a bunch of Franklins, walking liberties and Kennedys.

Nothing to do with the value of the coin. It should never be about the value; the quote in my signature line should tell you what I consider valuable...

Here's one that my wife found. The fields and cheek are almost spotless and the Bell Lines look better than other coins I've seen given FBL grades. She has a great eye when it comes to coins! Ben

I think I am going to have sell some of my Franklins and get a couple of the Capped Busts and Draped Busts. I don't have any in my collection.
