I have been looking for information on a 1960, dunno large or small date, but the 6 has an extra serif on it. Due to my job I will not be able to post a pic till late next month. Any information would be great to hear.

the number 6 does not have a serif. Is this what you are referring to? If so, that is exactly what every 6 looks like on the small date 1960.

no, it is on the top side of the 6. it is only the 6 from what I can remember, not on the mm or any other part of the date.

Seal has it correct. It is just a small date 1960 cent. If it is a Philly it is a good one to keep. If it is a Denver one, they are common.

Pointing where it is located on the photo I provided does not help. We need to see the ACTUAL coin in question. The one I posted does not show anything where you are pointing.

Well without actually being able to see it, I would say it is most likely damage. It is highly unlikey that it is true doubling if it is indeed that strong and ONLY in that one area.

Or, you might be describing a common error known as Machine Doubling. At any rate, we will be able to better help once you post those pictures.

yeah ... I have never seen on like it... I happened to sell a quantity of rolls and I bought the last of them. as I was searching them I found several. the rolls were straight from the bank in 1960. I do not remember the mm. I just found this website and thought there would be no time like the present to get input. I will continue to research and will post a pic of actual coin as soon as possible. have you heard of a large date over small?
thanks for the input!
