I'm far from being an expert for this series, but this one might actually be genuine (as opposed to 90% of the Trade dollars we see from new members of CCF). I'm still not sure about authenticity, as Trade dollars are often counterfeited, but I hope you know better than I do :) (I wouldn't buy un-certified Trade dollar). Details are AU, and it looks like the coin has been cleaned. If the experts could confirm authenticity, I'd definitely slab it. Report this Post to the Staff
SsuperDdave Moderator United States 23522 Posts	Posted 08/21/2013 11:15 am The images are a little small to justify any certainty regarding authenticity, but I don't see any obvious evidence causing doubt. The details are high AU - I tend to agree with supgog's opinion regarding cleaning - and if authentic, the coin is worth something over US$400 (at least). If it is your intent to liquidate this coin at some point, I would definitely have it graded and authenticated. Your primary buying audience would be in the US, and they will want to see this coin in a slab. Report this Post to the Staff
