As the title suggests,would like an opinion on this coin and whether its worth sending into a TPG for slabbing

Hey there .

I'm far from being an expert for this series, but this one might actually be genuine (as opposed to 90% of the Trade dollars we see from new members of CCF).

I'm still not sure about authenticity, as Trade dollars are often counterfeited, but I hope you know better than I do :) (I wouldn't buy un-certified Trade dollar).

Details are AU, and it looks like the coin has been cleaned.

If the experts could confirm authenticity, I'd definitely slab it.

The images are a little small to justify any certainty regarding authenticity, but I don't see any obvious evidence causing doubt. The details are high AU - I tend to agree with supgog's opinion regarding cleaning - and if authentic, the coin is worth something over US$400 (at least).

If it is your intent to liquidate this coin at some point, I would definitely have it graded and authenticated. Your primary buying audience would be in the US, and they will want to see this coin in a slab.
