Hi all. Looking into buying this early cent.
these are the pictures the seller has provided...

since early copper isn't my main field of numismatics, I think I need some help figuring out which variety this is...

any and all info is much appreciated

Attractive old copper, this. There are some "copperheads" who can peg the varieties in a glance. I'm not one of them. Here's a link to a website that I've found most helpful:

This process of attribution can be time consuming, yet it's educational. Good luck!

Leaf tip comes just counterclockwise to the middle of the M in AMERICA, left stem shorter than right, fraction bar angles up to the right, and the bottoms of both 7's come down directly on denticles.
S-138.

How much if you don't mind me asking, would one of these go for?

Philadelphian...I thank you for all the info you provided.
I spent an hour or so on coinfacts, but didn't have the patience to look through them all closely.

Regarding the value...I can let you know how much a 1797 S-138 early cent goes for tomorrow night.

It is in very good shape. That's not wear on the reverse, but a die bulge through S OF A that's characteristic of S-138.

The auction just ended.
It went for $340

If that's a bargain or not, I have no idea...
