the coin looks like a Great Britain Guinea KM# 609 8.35 grams, 0.9170 Gold purity, 0.2462 oz AGW
but the Crowned 4-fold spade of arms looks wrong. Not enough detail and the design is off in places.

Not gold, sorry. Genuine guineas are made of 22k gold, which doesn't discolour like that even if buried for a couple of centuries. Further, the fine detail I would expect to see just isn't there. The lions in the top right quadrant of the shield, for instance, look like little blobs... or maybe flowers. Compare the pic with pics of real guineas, like here on Wikipedia.

I get the impression of a gilded brass token, with the gilding wearing off.

Brass. My personal preference is not to bid on items where the bidding is private. It is too easy for the seller to "bid up" or "shill" the item with nobody seeing. And as a seller, I've found Private listings to be counter productive too.
