I just was given a 1994 Uzbekistan 10 som coin which is either gold or gold-clad; it is in a plastic holder and came in a red presentation case with a small placard inside stating "Pobjoy Mint". I recently contacted the mint and they replied that their records do not show they produced it and no one on their current staff was at the Mint back in 1994. The coin is the standard 10 som that was issued in silver (the image is the equestrian statue), but I cannot find any reference (at least so far) to a gold/gold-clad version. Any ideas/thoughts/guesses? Thanks!

I suspect you may get more replies if you were to post some pictures. From your description I have no clue.

I think you are talking about this coin here:

Gold plated silver coin it seems. No idea about the mintage but it's rather uncommon.
