I am new to coin collecting being out of it for about 5-10 years and wanting to start it up again. I have been buying a few coins on ebay and some at a local coin club. I saw on ebay these nice plastic case collection sets such as "The U.S. Historical Coins Collection" and "Americana Series". I like the way they have a group of coins placed together but would haven't been able to locate on the internet where to buy these at other than on ebay. I would like to see if I can buy those sets or something similar but with no coins so I can get better quality coins to populate them with. Where can I find these sets or something similar to start collecting again. Thanks, Tim

Thank you Rick. I had found that site on Google yesterday but unfortunately they don't have the sets I am looking for. I know about albums and 2x2" holders but I want a unique plastic case with cardboard inserts possibly and coin place holders for a set of coins such as "all of the cents" (i.e. 1/2 cent, large cent, small cent, ect.).
I used to have a 3 ring binder (with plastic inserts and 2x2" holders) with a coin of each type ever made dating as early as 1790's to modern day coins (1 of each)
Thanks,
Tim

OK, no problem, I was just there yesterday too and remember seeing some of those plastic strip holders.
How about buying the complete set in the holder you want and just changing out the coins with better grades.
Or post a pic of something like what you're after and others may have the answer as to where to find it.
Welcome to the forum and welcome back to collecting.

Not sure if your know of coin shows but if there are any in your area and they are decent ones, you could buy almost anything there. Check out google for coin shows. Just type in coin shows and your state. Also, try coin clubs in your area for info on coin shows. On places like Google, not all coin shows get listed. That is why it pays to do a little checking with coin clubs, coin stores, hobby stores, etc.for more info. If I went only by the ones listed in the Google listings, I would miss about 1/3 of the coin shows in my area. At coin shows you could buy loose coins, almsot complete sets, complete sets, etc. All pending on the size of the show.

Thanks Carl. I just missed a good show in Chicago but I'll keep an eye out. I would still think someone has something like these online.

I remember having a big framed holder for all US coins going back to Barbers. It was/is about 14 X 20. I can give it to you if you want it. LMK and I'll see if it's still around and take a pic. Rick

52raymo, These are closer to what I would like to see. What I would really like to get are holders showing the progression in each coin type (i.e. all cents, all 5 cents, all Half Dimes, all dimes, etc.) with a nice insert like the ones from "The U.S. Historical Coins Collection" cases. Shootnstarz, If you have a picture that would be great. Let me know what you want for it also, shipping, etc. Thanks! Tim

Thanks Commems! This was pretty good but unless I can find "The U.S. Historical Coins Collection" cases (no coins), I think I may just go back to a variation of what I had before being a 3 ring binder with plastic sleaves for the cardboard coin holders. What I really liked about what I did was that next to each sample of each coin type I would place into the plastic sleave next to each coin a printout of what each coin should look like as a good example as some of the older coins were in good or VG condition and needed lighting and magnifying to see the details. http://www.coinsite.com/coinsite-pf.../default.asp

I like the air-tites, because it is easy to hold and look at the coin. They have some cases you can display them in. Unfortunately they don't have cases with historical info, which would be nicer.
