Find a coin that was minted recently and see how it echos an old design. I'll start with an easy example The 2012 Silver Britannia: The reverse of the 1853 British Penny (arrived in my collection this morning): Edited by Demarco Bishopp 05/09/2013 1:09 pm

I like this topic. But the first person who posts a Walking Liberty half dollar with an American Silver Eagle is going to get thumped! Just kidding.

DB . . . I don't have a comparison but that is one sweet penny.

If the ASE and Gold Eagle are taken out of the mix...I can't think of a comparable pair in U.S. Coinage. Britannia's have always been "classy" coins.

Can't think of any others though (maybe some in State Quarters versus classic commemoratives - I don't really know much about either).

This thread shouldn't die! There's tons of neat stuff to be posted. Recently found this in a 50-cent (usually reserved for high face value) bin: Look familiar? And both Dakotas did something nostalgic: -----

One of my favourites is the Ram's Head design from Australia. It's been used a few times. Pre-decimal Shilling 1938 - 1963 1991 50 Cents 2011 One Dollar _Australia__1_-_Mint_Your_Own.jpg) Steve

Nice coins Triggeramob! I like that design as well - got the shilling and 50c but never seen the dollar before. Here are a couple from Argentina - 1 centavo 1888 and the very same Liberty head reappearing on the 50 centavos of 1983...
