is it worth getting a $500 box of quarters? approx how many will be silver? also my bank is ok with selling them to me, but I dont know how they would react to me trying to sell it back to them after I'm done searching it. also, right now $500 is alot of money to me, and I don't have the luxury to turn them in slowly. what I would do is hunt through the whole box in a weekend and turn in the cull the next week.

I've searched my share of quarters, and I would expect one silver per $500 box. I would also not recommend dumping the rejects at the same bank you purchased at, you will wear out your welcome fast if you continue that practice, even if they say it's okay. Might I recommend dimes over quarters? Much better chance for keepers. Good luck.

Definitely more silver left in dimes. they arent as obviously different so they dont get yanked by people as often.

from the quarters I have done...roughly 1 silver per 2000$ searched give or take....i do not do them anymore as I got tired of it once I filled some albums plus quarters are HEAVY...definately not as good as dimes but theres always chances of some double dies or ATB if you are trying to fill albums

I agree with dimes. NOT the clear plastic rolls, though.

Dimes are too small to see clearly, so people pass them on (because the date is so tiny).
But even with perfect vision, searching dimes gets old fast! It's the only American denomination to completely lack commemoratives. (But the 2001 Volunteer Canadian dime doesn't make dimes much more exciting either... you can't win)

Dimes have so much variety and potential, they even beat out halves IMO.

I would say dimes over quarters. You should get way better results, and if you can't see the dates and you are only interested in silver, edge search them.
