This "California Gold Token" is listed as a "1/2 Dollar", yet there is no mention of dollar or "dol." on the reverse:

My impression is that this constitutes deception, even though the item is listed under the heading "fantasy coins." Should this listing be reported?

My consideration for that posting is why I posed this as a question here. I do try to be open minded.

If one does a search for "fantasy token" naturally, this item will be found. However, it will also appear in a search for "Civil War token" (how it came to my attention) or "gold." It's obviously not suited to either of those categories. Then too, the seller knows that this is a fantasy token, yet offers no explanation or description of the piece. This is what principally concerns me. The lack of info suggests to me a means of trolling for fish ...

Knowing collectors will quickly pass over such listings, based on the photo, alone. Yet, newbies and potential collectors will easily fall prey to such listings, methinks. While I'm a strong believer in "caveat emptor" or "let the buyer beware", does not a knowing seller have some obligation to inform the buyer? I tend to think that, beyond a moral obligation, ebay should require some description, if only an attempted one, by sellers.

i dont like the fact that they put it in the "gold fractional, pioneer" category but over all the listing is pretty clear
