1830 Capped Bust Half from ebay.

At the time it seemed like a good idea, but now I think I may have overpaid because it worries me that it was cleaned and also I am not the best grader in the world. I looked at pcgs online pictures before bidding, but when I looked afterwards again my thoughts drifted lower. Also, it looks whiter in person than in picture. Seller had 100% positive feedback. I paid $95.

If you are willing, what would you give it as a grade, and also, do you think it was cleaned? Was I taken?

Thanks

EDIT: 1. I added 2 pics to try to show it in different light. 2. The doubling is the picture only

VF35. Lighting is funky hard to say if it is cleaned. Seems like a fair price.

Is the "830" in the date doubled or is it just the picture?

Thanks for the comments. I added two pictures that are not as clear or good, but do it in different light based on the comment of the lighting.

The doubling is just the picture, it is not on the coin.

VF-35 details. The 3rd picture if accurate makes me think that the coin has been cleaned.

A great deal of these were cleaned over the century and a half since they were minted. It's a decent example in VF condition and your price was OK.

better pictures would help. I have several bust halves and I am trying to learn to grade them. The clasp on the shoulder on the obverse is important to differentiate between Fine and VF. There is a coin photography section of this forum. It really helped me to improve a lot, the folks there are very helpful.

Use a tripod or something to steady your camera. That will stop the blurring. Trigger the shutter with a timer or remotely. Even pressing the shutter will cause the camera to move.

XF40.

I would have paid that much with the first set of pictures, but with the second set of pictures, I am not sure. With the second set of pictures I see cleaning.
