G Day there, I am having a heck of a time trying to decide what is going on with this coin. There seem's to be cracking around the middle part of the rims circumference. My thoughts are heading towards a less of an extent of a split planchet.
Possibly a Lamination of some sort? But in on the rim
I'm not sure what to do with this coin, Leave it, or try to crack it (using extreme cold & hot temp's) any OP's of this would be great! Cheer's jpl..

PS, if you look at the first photo there seem's to be some kind of tooling mark's, but none of them match up together like what you would see if a coin was squeezed in a vice? The coin is straight and true & in no real damage, maybe someone has had a light go at it trying to use Inward Pressure (vice/multigrips). I don't think that these Marks ( PMD) contribute to the actual Question of this coin.

Soak in water (drop of detergent to ensure it penetrates) then freeze is one suggested method. Might need repeating several times if it looks like it is opening a little.

Jeff, it is in the freezer at the moment, It will turn it into an ice cube tonight & see how it go's with detergent! jpl..
PS, Some Liquid Nitrogen would come in handy, but it would not be so good if it shattered into a T-1000 screen shot!

Mine seemed to have a much more pronounced split that the one you have. After freezing didnt work I threw it on its edge at the floor for about an hour. Then tried freezing again and then dropping it in boiling water but that didnt work either.Good luck anyway!
