I think we're being a little too hard on the grade of this one.
Where Rick Snow writes "Three letters of LIBERTY are visible" for VG-8, I do think he means any part of the letter--versus reading it.
I'm also looking at the whole coin, including the height of the rims and the hair-ribbon junction. VG-8 at least--imo.

In my grading book it states three letters. I can only make out the L.

It's okay if you guys disagree with me, just making a point.

Here's the book I use:

Looks like Snow4 and Snow5 both have the die chip that is on your coin. Both have repunching on the 1, which I see in your coin. S4 has repunching on the 2nd 9, and S5 has repunching on the 8: I don't see either on your coin.

robbudo,
Would you please point out where I need to look on the 1? Are you saying it is a S4 or a S5? Any added value? Thank you much.

Underneath the flag of the 1. I can't tell whether it is S4 or S5, but I'm sure Rick Snow could! These minor RPDs are supposed to double or triple the base value of the coin. So, no one will be getting rich here, but it is really awesome to find an RPD in change.
