I bought a coin which was so cheap that I am a little suspicious. Can somebody tell me whether this is a genuine coin? Thanks! The only info I have of this coin: THRACE - MESAMBRIA CORINTHIAN HELMET - WHEEL 15mm 3,92gr (which is correct according to this coin on vcoins: http://www.vcoins.com/en/stores/git...Default.aspx

I'm not very familiar with the issue but WOW, that's a nice coin. No idea if it is legit, but at a glance it looks fine. Have you checked the fake databases just in case?

The issues of the type are highly faked...
Not sure about this one, but these are always worrying.

I would say it's good with a question mark. I don't know really anything about this type. Though the style and patina look right.

I think if its bronze you should be OK, if its small and silver I would be worried those are faked very well. I had a chance to see a fake silver coin in person, and man without looking at known fake dies, I would have been fooled.

Suspiciously cheap is 19euro incl shipping... thank you all for your comments! I'm not so worried anymore now. When I have received it, I shall post a picture.

Most probably a fake. These people seem to be a fake outlet. New generation casts mainly, difficult to detect. Counterfeited corrosion, etc. I was another victim. They sell tons of them every week.

He's not on the Notorious Fake Seller list, which is a good sign.

Certainly that is a good thing... for them. But just have a look at what they sell every week and everyman for himself.

I have looked at them and they all appear genuine to me. If you can point out anything that is a known fake than reference it here. Seeing is believing and I haven't seen anything on their site that sends up any red flags for me.

Here are two of my (recent) purchases from the same seller. What do you think? Maximinus Follis Heraclea Iovi Wreath 3,81 g / 23 mm Boeotia Federal Coin Trident Dolphin 1,81 g / 14 mm

I don't see anything wrong with either of them other than the flans being pitted.
