Okay, so last night, I went back to the community center where I have been finding most of my MD find money. My time was cut short due to me having a lot to do before today's work shift started, but I found .40 cents there during my brief dig. I went to the library across the street for a quick check of the grounds and dug up a lock and a metal handle from a spigot. Also found was this little metal sign, which I am going to research. My latest dig puts me over $25.00 for MD finds since May.

It's a lawn mower dime. And the other stuff is pretty cool too. It looks like that sign may be for a company which is no longer in business, or was maybe bought by a different company. I emailed a lead on it and will find out soon, I hope. And CoinCollector, it would be really weird for you to be typing if you weren't living, so that's a good thing to hear. I am trying to find someone around here with an old homestead and the willingness to let me hunt the land, but so far I have had no luck.

Yeah that's bad luck, but this is my first site outside of my own home, so I really want to find something good! But hey, yes I am still alive, I just haven't posted in a while. I have been detecting a little since the 20th and I found 11 pennies in my driveway and a belt buckle!!

11 pennies and a belt buckle? Keep filling your pockets with finds and you'll need that buckle to keep the pants up with all that weight in money! On a more serious note, and speaking of coins weighing down pants pockets, I am trying to come up with something I can either wear or carry to put my dug-up coins in, so they aren't loose in my pocket. They tend to be dirty when I dig them up, and that's making my pocket really nasty. I went back to the new favorite spot after work today (short night at work) and found even more money. It's cleaning now so I will catalog it and post here in about 8 hours.

Mine too, I always have dirt running down the side of my pants. But today I'm going to my Nana's house and tomorrow we are going to a farm from the early 1900s !

Don't they still make utility belts? Those would come in handy.

They do make things like utility belts, but I prefer something less cumbersome. I may just deal with dirt in my pocket. I guess another option is to carry a separate small canvas bag and put the coins and other finds in there. I'll ponder it.

My son used to work for a grocery store and he gave me his old aprons to use. They are a half apron with 3 pockets very similar to this one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-NEW-BLACK...em1e6b68c45aThey are light weight, easy to clean and hold just about anything you'll dig up. Trash goes in the left pocket, coins in the right, and I don't know what it is, I'll investigate it later goes in the middle.
