It's actually a matter of grading, which shouldn't mbe that different between world and us grading....I hope, I'm more of a coin guy, so I hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes making that statement...
which grade would a bill with corner bumps as shown below, with that being the only flaw on a otherwise, still in its bank wrap, seemingly perfect bill, get?
Would it be a 65 or even a 66?
If interested, there are a few more pictures in the world currency forum...didn't get much response there though, so that's why I'm trying here.
Hello epikur, nice bills you have there. Because the Edges are not perfect a European or German collector would grade this Notes as AU (-1). The most European systems are total different from the US System. 1. UNC / KFR. 2. XF / VZGL. 3. VF / SS 4. VG - Fine / S.g.E. - S 5. Is not for collect. This is a example for the German or the French system. In practice, there are steps of + and -. That means your bills are in -1 (AU) condition. For the German collector is a correct UNC only if there is no defect. The only exception are production related defects. I personally combine the German and the U.S. system. Both systems are not perfect. Bills which can be in the USA UNC, sometimes would be in Europe already XF + - AU. The U.S. system is more accurate, but makes too many negative surprises. I collect a lot of old Americans and therefore I use mostly the U.S. system. For my German, Scottish and Northern Irish Bills I take only 1-2 graduate bills into the collection.
