I have always liked the design of the SLQ. After seeing some posts with photos I had to go get some. I was just looking for samples to get started. I bought 15 coins ranging from 1926 to 1930 (some s mints). All coins are in what I would consider to be F15 to VF20. I paid $6.75 per coin. Is that the going rate? I usually only buy Walking Liberty VF/EF coins so this one is new to me.

IMO, you did well. Those are reasonable prices for that grade of Standing Liberty quarters of those years (unless some of them are 1927 Ds and Ss, then you did REALLY well!).

Thanks Moe. He has always been fair with me on Walkers. Today I paid $9.50 per coin for VF/EF commons. Melt was $8.50 so I thought that was about right. I guess I will have to go back another time and look for a few more of the quarters. The more I look at them through the loop the more I like this design.

Me too! Definitely one of my favorite designs of all US coins!

There is so much going on with this coin. The stars, the shield, the wording, and a fantastic looking eagle. I like the eagle on WLH but I find this one a little neater since it is in flight. I can already sense I will own a few BU/graded ones before I am done.

Photos are on my list of things to learn. I have been here about a year. I tried in the beginning and got frustrated. When pictures get posted people expect good shots or they comment more about the photo and less about the coin.

Upon further review and an online grading site I would say I got 1-2 G, 7-8 VG and the rest F. No VF so I didn't take the guy. I hope $6.75 was still fair.
