Jbuck, I know you'll love this one! So I walk into my bank and ask for half dollars as usual, but the teller says she also has 32 Ikes. Great, I never say no to Ikes, but boy, was I in for a treat. First of all, About half were nice BU coins with sharp, bright rims. These three were just the best of the best, and the two bicentennials even have some nice toning that doesn't really come out int he pics. When the teller was counting them out, I also noticed some extra shiny ones. Proofs! They've got some fingerprints and smudges, but they're still my first Ike proofs, and I was extra happy to get both bicentennial varieties. Finally, I noticed a few distinct clinks when the coins were on the counter. Sure enough, when I got them in my hands -- Silver! A '72 and a '76 Blue Ike! Awesome score to say the least, and a great start to a great set. Sure never thought I'd see a silver Ike from the bank

Great score! It's great to find something like that a bank for face value. My friend that hits a lot of them around here has found quite a few numismatic tellers. But he did get a 40 at a local CU not long ago.
Maybe you should take your teller some candy or flowers.

I tried that but all I got was crap. So I've been dumping over two hundred Ikes on the town so far. Only three hundred more to go. Also for the record you should have seen my wife's doctor when I paid the bill in Ike's! I thought they were gonna need a Valium.

SWEET!!!!!! My wife brought home 19 from the bank a couple of weeks ago, no silver but I was thrilled to get them. Congrats on your find, especially the silver ones.

What a super find! I noticed that there is a mix of Type I and Type II's. I have gotten a few IKEs from my bank but never anything like that. Someone probably cashed out someone's collection not knowing the value of some of them. At some coin shows I have overheard someone asking a dealer if IKEs have any value and without looking at them, the dealer tells them know to just spend them for face or take them to the bank. Oh well! I never thought to ask to look at them either.
