coin looks ok maybe high vf but what am I missing on the price it went for? Final sales price was 127 or about 4 times normal price for a coin of that grade and that year.

It is an overdate 1851/81. Fair price for the condition. imo.

I can see the overlapping on the last "1," but not the "5," amida.

Intesting. I can't make out the over date at all. Still a nice coin. Even color. I think maybe XF and about $50 maxim, but not $127, if. There was no over date or rarity aspect. Do you think the bidders picked up on the overrate? Clearly the seller did to state it.

Definitely N3 overdate. Some people browse ebay just to find coins like this that the seller has no idea what he actually had.
