I have a set of uncirculated State Quarters rolls from my Dad's Collection. 36 of them are in the orange original bank rolls. 14 I believe my Dad gathered himself when the issues were new. I did not record if they are P or D, Most likely P as he collected them on the east coast. See list below.

I noticed on ebay that individual rolls sell for about $15-17 plus shipping. My question is what to do with them. (1) Cash them in at a bank? (2) Sell them on ebay 1-2 rolls at a time. (4) Sell just a few selected rolls and cash the rest in? or (4) Sell the lot here?

Do this many uncirculated rolls have a premium that is worth the trouble? Opinions? ed (PS: this is not intended in any way as an ad. If I choose to sell them I will list them appropriately.)

36 Uncirculated and Unopened: AL, AK, AR, CA, CO, FL, HA, ID, IA, IL, ID, KY, KS, LA, MN, MO, MI, MT, MS, ME, NM, NY, NC, ND, NV, OK, OH, NE, TX, RI, VT, UT, WI, WV, WA,WY

14 Lightly Circulated rolls: AZ, DE, CT, GA, NJ, OR, MA, NH, MD, PA, SC, SD, TN, VA,

ebay will charge you fees.....cashing them in at the bank is the easiest but you will only get face value...you could sell them here but before you do find out what it would cost to ship them...they might be the states people may need for those who collect them; any amount over face value and shipping would be profit for sure. Just something to consider nybird.

I have found that ebay & PayPal eat up about 12% of your selling price + shipping, so that a roll would have to sell for over $11.50 to make any profit. Additionally shipping is a minimum of $3.50 for one roll, so most buyers will usually only pay more for the higher valued rolls. In my experience, rolls that are valued at just $1 0r $2 over face, ebay just isn't the way to go. I have seen some seller actually lose money trying to sell their rolls on ebay.

Hi,What a shame that these fall into the "misfit" of a coin series. Such as the Susan B's,Ike's,Roosevelt dimes... I would still put aside the significant ones. Like the Illinois,Tennessee,Oklahoma(the lowest mintage of all,I think the P's) the rest, like suggested,I would get face value. Oh well,of course,it is your decision! Don't forget to check for varieties. Wisconsin,D.C.,Minnesota.or even try to find a rare "70" grade? -joey

IMO State Quarter rolls are hard to sell. When you do sell only certain rolls seem to have a better value. Then it depends on the type of roll

Mint wrapped rolls are the favorite
Bank wrapped rolls may sell over face, for the better states.
Put together rolls, I have not seen sell for over face.

Edit I have open orange rolls where not all the coins were State Quarters.

Here is a little more breakdown
36 Uncirculated and Unopened these are the ones in the clear and orange wrappers: AL, AK, AR, CA, CO, FL, HA, ID, IA, IL, ID, KY, KS, LA, MN, MO, MI, MT, MS, ME, NM, NY, NC, ND, NV, OK, OH, NE, TX, RI, VT, UT, WI, WV, WA,WY

14 Lightly Circulated rolls, these are the ones in the brown wrappers: AZ, DE, CT, GA, NJ, OR, MA, NH, MD, PA, SC, SD, TN, VA,

Does anyone think there is a market for the whole set as is? I just don't have time to deal with the varieties on these so they really are at least unsearched rolls - yes that is hard to believe but true. I just don't have time to invest in another series of coins. ed

WoW! 500 $ of quarters! How 'bout cashing in on the face, and purchase a nice PCGS graded, 1932s or d quarter for that cash? Then,if you decide later,if you want to flip the slab,it wouldn't be that difficult to sell. The 1932 s or d's are popular with collectors.

I would cash in (or spend) the 14 circulated rolls and list the 36 uncirculated rolls as a set, starting at face value and see what happens.

Oklahoma-D was the lowest mintage variety; problem is, 194 million is still higher than any variety of ATB Quarter produced as yet...

I would not run them at face value. Right now, you may as well put all of them on ebay and see what happens. Keep in mind ebay fees and shipping.

Go with ebay and try to sell them all in 1 big lot....set a reserve price of $500.00 minimum and see where the bidding goes, who knows you could make a decent profit if demand is high....but ebay charges 10% of total and paypal is like 3% I think.
