I am new here; my favorite coin minted by the US is the Capped Bust half dollar. Here is this 1821 Capped bust I have. I was wondering if the condition is ok and if there are any flaws that would detract from the coins value/appeal at all? What would you all grade this?

I appreciate any/all feedback!

I forgot to ask, what would the coin community price a coin like this? I just want to make sure I got a decent deal for it.

to the Forum!

I would grade this nice Capped Bust Half at VF-25, with just a couple small scratches on the obverse bust and a couple dings in the surfaces; (Obverse 4 o'clock and Reverse 7 o'clock in the olive branch, Eagle's shield and the M & E in AMERICA). But, I don't think those flaws would merit a "Details Grade" from a TPG.

My 2014 RedBook lists this grade of this coin at around $145.

I like it!

Thanks for the information Moe! That 4 o clock ding had me concerned initially but hopefully a TPG goes easy on it haha.

I manage to get the coin for $112 so I am pretty happy!
