My girlfriend says I'm crazy not to sell it for the price they're going for right now on ebay.
But I can't! I just CAN'T! ;-)

Most of the time your girl friend would be right and you should always listen to her. However in this case, if you are at all a Superman fan (even just a tiny one), you should keep the coin.

If you sell it, you will always regret doing so.

Hopefully you have ordered the six other coins and will have a complete set.

By the way it's a fantastic coin!

P.S. I think I've said that somewhere on this thread before Pages 32 and 40.

Folks, on a more dour note I received the dreaded email from the RCM, entitled: "Order shipment update"! These always make me feel queasy before I open them.

Yup! My Superman shield coin is "currently backordered"...

I guess they need to hire more Hobbits to do the enamelling.

I got the same email Moose....that could be good or bad because as they get better at the enameling job, it might just be perfect...or bad as they get tired of doing it and its a sloppy mess....

Seller regretted and refunded only. Buyer was mad and left negative feedback.

I would think that most Collectors and Superman fans who have gotten more than one Superman Gold will keep at least one coin and anyone who buys in at $2000 or more will probably keep the coin so if you do the math most of the 2000 Gold Superman coins will go into collections pretty soon and the remaining few hundred coins will escalate in value in the market place.....

as far as flipping Superman Silver goes there are still a lot of presales but the market is hot as the coins are becoming sold out everywhere...top prices paid are close to 200 and almost 300 asking for the Hologram in one ebay listing......

I think it will be flooded once everyone receives their coins as well. It's a gamble to wait it out, it could go ether way. But it looks like all the coins are still going strong.

Oh and I wasn't laughing at the ending price of the superman coin. I thought panda was just trying to draw some attention to his listing before it ended

Until the RCM comes out with some new hot ticket item.. Then they get forgotten like the hundreds of other modern mint coins. On the plus side, they'll probably retain a small premium over bullion value like the $100 gold coins of the 1970s-1990s!

Just as a word of warning for anyone who purchased the Superman coins that come housed in the plastic cube-like boxes. Make sure that you check that the black plastic base isn't defective. I opened my hologram coin and found that the round portion of the case had come loose. It appears that the ring of glue holding it together didn't take very well. I'll be sending it back on Monday.

How do you open the tops to the displays? I got a partial shipment. Could this mean a long wait for the others. I got the Lenticular Coin and Stamp Set, $75 14-Kt. Gold Coin - Superman, Fine Silver Coin - Man of Steel, Fine Silver Hologram Coin - Superman.
