I love the service with GAtewest coins! I just had a phone call from Darren clarifying my order. I was signing up and ordering from my iPhone, and ended up ordering 2 of the same superman coin. I only found this out yesterday when checking emails. I just figured they would cancel the second automatically since its one per customer. Wow I got a call from Darren just to clarify, what great service

And they're still advertising the gold coin for $750 in the latest CNN, which they obviously have no intention of honouring. False advertising at best, Bait and Hook at worst.

Maybe they couldn't pull the ad before it went to print. It's what happens when ads are placed in advance. I've had it happen to me when selling my Arabians. It's the problem with printed material that isn't daily. Things change rapidly in this world. Their site has it sold out.

It's the same ad they ran two weeks ago - even with a long lead time for ads they could have fixed it.
A company has to stand by their published advertised price. Their ad says the coin sells for $750. Either they sell it for that price or they don't sell it at all.

He's selling from outside, it's not allowed by ebay although they could make the transaction by Paypal..."I am selling ONE of these coins for $2200. But I have selling limit of $1000. Please MESSAGE me regarding payment and checkout. " |

re lowest price and strangest sale....ebay could waive their buyer protection on such a deal..im surprised it got that far..Seller should have put the coin in auction with a 1000 start..he probably would have gotten a better price than 2200 anyways these days

@moneypenny....i dont think you can determine value of gold superman so easily..asking 7500 reflects a lot about this coin and many have sold above 3k..this may become a normal ask for this hot gold coin within a year..with only 2k mintage to work with...... it will probably climb consistantly much higher than you suggest ..in any case its amusing to speculate beyond the completed listings section

In any case, I anticipate the "big flip" will almost exclusively be the second sale every time. As in, the person who got it for $750 from the mint selling for $2500. I doubt many of the people buying for $2500 will get $4301+ for it.

@cassidy, looking at past ebay auctions only one gold Superman coin has sold for $3000 and none above that. If it is a really popular coin, the prices are maintained. But I don't see a coin currently selling for between $2200 and $2500 go for $10,000 in 1 yr, 2 yr, 5 yr time. One thing you need to remember with the gold superman coin is there are more people who actually want to keep it in their collection then people wanting to buy it to sell for a profit , or atleast it appears that way, so as more and more get taken off the market the higher the price will go for the ones remaining that come up for sale.
