Superman comics went all around the world in WWII with American troops and he's been a symbol of the United States ever since. Have a look here for just this discussion: http://forums.comicbookresources.co...b8e49e956d79

ok I admit it..i love and am biased towards Superman and I've recently developed an attachment to spiderman..in fact I just bought a spiderman 300 comic book for 185...even my 24 yr old son raised his eyebrows on that one.....so what else is new? I'm a collector fanatic of coins since the early 60s and I know a hot coin when I see one....as far as Gold Superman goes the sellers who are taking a hefty profit at 2000 are happy and they should be..theyre not greedy and theyve almost tripled their investment...... and that price will eventually jump to the next level.....if the mintage was 5000 it would be the same thing for this coin but because its a scant 2000 its going to skyrocket...but only time will tell how fast and how much.....Ive read the whole 64 pages of this forum and I'm amazed how long it took for collectors to jump on the gold superman..i bought 4 out of the gate but the ebay seller I bought 2 coins from could only deliver 1 coin....im not greedy and I forgive him..he sold me Superman gold on waiting which was a big mistake!..so yeah..im biased towards the success of this release for good reasons..like mathematics for instance.....

Keep in mind though right now there are more willing to sells than those willing to buy. I would think it will goes back up once supply dry out. I don't own any gold coin but for the hologram and other coins, I see a steady increase.

The gold coin is less predictable (the price is too high) but I think, it'll stay in $2.000 range.

But, IMO, silver coins - will raise a bit more, when the supply will be more limited.

I think I have to side with CASSIDY77 on this one. That mintage IMO will play a huge roll in the coins price point. Right now almost everyone who bought the coin at issue or close to it are reselling it. Why wouldn't they sell? It's a huge profit margin. But once the supply runs dry, I can really see it climbing from $2,000 easily.

Before everyone gets carried away on this gold coin, would any member here pay 3000.00 or more for this coin, there are lots of RCM coins with lower mintages that sell below issue. Most of us thought the issue price was too high, that's why it survived through master club, 2000.00 in my view is a great price on this coin

I personally wouldn't pay 3,000 for the gold superman coin, and I don't think there are many takers on this forum who would. But I am referring to the fan's out there that have the bank roll and are willing to pay.

I only had two gold coins one I got for a little under issue from tails the other for 1600. I'll be honest here I sold one for 2200 after fee's. I will be holding on to the other coin in my collection. It might be a bad move who knows, but I'm doing it anyways.

Ya I am holding on to mine as well, even if it goes to $5000 I am still keeping it, above that, if it ever was to happen then I "might" rethink on selling it, well maybe , come to think on it , I would hate parting with any of my coins..

Why it could be "bad move"...
Do you need both in the collection? If you like the one that you have - keep it, sure. But if it initially targeted for resale - just do it in the right time.

I admit a bit of surprise at how many people here bought the Superman gold coin just to flip it.
