Quote: A new low for the gold Superman coin since the coin became hot: Well MP, I think a one thousand dollar profit is pretty darn good, especially for an ebay seller who only had one previous sale over eight years ago. There was only one bid in this auction (was it you?) , so I figure folks interested in this coin just stayed away. Was it a bargain? I dunno... P.S. How did you get from Vancouver to Winnipeg so fast to pick up the coin? Did Superman give you a lift?

Uh Oh! I just noticed this this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Superman-Go...em2c76853480The same seller is now offering another gold Superman with the same COA (#363). Is this a mistake, or did the first deal fall through? There are four bidders now and the coin is up to US $1,475 with four days left in the auction. Will this be another "new low"?

Here is another one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/17117167035....m1438.l2649Same $1.475 current bid with 5 days to go. So it can still climb to very high price in theory, but I do not think, that people will be ready to pay more than $2.000 for it. For me always was interesting, why the coin stops at some price point and doesn't go up.

Quote: lol. what happened to the hologram coin It was only one coin, taro-chan. I don't think that sale means much, although MoneyPenney might call it a "new low".

The gold Superman coin prices are trending downward, instead of increasing. Having new lows for it merely reflects what the direction the coin is going. The curse9 chart is showing that trend. People are unwilling to pay more than $2000 (or slightly above) for it. Most auctions that end have only 1 or 2 bidders (unless it starts very low). Unlike when the coin was hot there could be 20+ bidders for one coin; thus driving the price higher. I already pointed out in a earlier post the Superman coins are the hottest coins of the year. It just has cooled a little. Most of the other coins issued by the Mint this year are selling for or below list prices. Look at the glass Candy Cane coin. It is doing terrible on ebay.

The shipping for that hologram coin was $30 that plays a big factor in weather people even want to compete for that coin.
I'll admit from that chart the gold superman coin is not gaining any ground. But I think looking at every sale while so many are still listed is a little impractical. Maybe I'm being bias but that's how I see it.

Dealer prices on Gold Superman arent changing..they are still in the 23-2500 range.on ebay there are still lots of new primary 750 Golds up for sale ....some at issue start because sellers are confident they will get at least 1800-2000 in the secondary market....and even if they got 1500 many would still be happy.....every one that sells is one less available in the secondary market and it wont be long before this stock is exhausted.....unless someone in China starts producing them! The post secondary market is yet to come....right now it may be very hard to resist the easy money especially if you think the price will drop! So I wouldnt be surprised at a lot more sales in the 1800-2000 range......if you bought at 2500 and up you are in for the long term collector appeal and that coin is off the market for at least a year or more......The Dealers are the best judge of the value of these coins and they are all pretty much sold out....
