I was taking pic of this Lincoln die crack, it's not the same as the other I had up before, to put in the auction forum. And I was zooming in I noticed what to me looks like doubling on the word GOD. I also noticed what again looks like a doubled ear. Please look at these pics and tell me what you think. For some reason I am much better at taking pics of copper. You really really really love that coin don't ya.  Not sure about the DD on God. If it is it's more of Machine Doubling. I don't know enough about double ears to give you a correct answer. |

Graceoutcast, this is a different cracked head cent. I sold the other one. The crack on this one looks pretty much like the other one.  |

How in the world did you find 2 almost identical die cracks that are so predominately placed?

not weird at all there was thousand if not hundreds of thousands minted from the same die so it is not that far fetched at all. there is a 97P with the double ear and a 84P but I have never seen a 93 with it. try to get hold of coppercoins he owns a site that deals in these things and you will get all the info you can use plus there. i hope I am aloud to do this if not please just delete my post. the link is http://coppercoins.com/go into the forum and ask. add your photos but try to get a better and closer shot of the ear. you will know what you are looking for I would say within 24 hours or less but don't hold me to it. good luck Gary too |

I don't see anything on the ear that indicates a doubled die. The photo would have to be much better to tell. The crack is indeed that, a die crack - and a nice one too. The doubling on GOD is Machine Doubling. |

You're right, thingee. This one's significantly nicer than the first, and the first one is very nice indeed. The crack is entirely different, and unrelated to the first coin. |
