I am eyeing what is called a "1913 Fukien Yi Hao" silver coin. I have read that coins from the Fukien provence have been extensively faked.

Where can I find out more about this coin? My searches are coming up short.

The deal with Chinese coins is if you really don't know what you are getting, always greet them with skeptism. Asking questions here is not a bad idea although you should get a specialized catalog if you are really into Chinese coins. It's an area full of landmines.

It's a coin that's struck in between 1925 and 1927 if I am not mistaken. While it's not scarce and I don't think it's a counterfeit, you realize that this seller does not specialize in selling Chinese coins and he has sold counterfeits. Use this to your judgement.

I am not familiar with this seller and am not surprised they they have willingly or unwillingly passed counterfits.

For my purposes, I am working on a type set and this coin fits that set...I am certainly not big into chinese coins, and its authentecity isn't really that important....but I certaily don't want a fake in there!
