I was looking at this coin in a lot and it looked pointy and was in the 1864-L spot in an Indian Head cent Whitman book. Is this an 1864-L? It looks it compared to the other cents in the book. I know the picture is bad. I tried to edit it to make it more visible.

It has verdigris but hopefully Verdi-care will help some. I guess I have to wait to get it. The picture above is 500% larger than the original which really doesn't work well.

Wow, I thought that I was looking at a planet or something, not an Indian cent. Terrible image.

Did you see the pictures from the ebay listing? The picture of the coin is small.

Now that I looked at the ebay listing, I couldn't begin to tell what it is.

I guess I just have to hope that the collector who's book it was knew what they were doing. From the way the seller describes it, they weren't the collector. The bust does look different for the 1864-L than the neighboring coins.

Here is the coin with a closer picture of bust and ribbon. There does appear to be part of the "L". The coin needs to be soaked in Verdi-care.

It looks there is an "L" on the ribbon. Are you sure? It was in a the 1864-L spot of an old Whitman book. It seems that many people have difficulty telling the difference, including me. There appears to be some sort of crud near the bust as well.
