I recently purchased this through ebay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1883-CC-1-M...171118668407

I think it was reasonable price for the 1883-CC.
So I received the package and opened it today. There seems to be some damages on the GSA holder on left side (upper corner and lower corner as well).

Questions are:
1) What do you think about the grade ?
2) Also, do I need to be concern with the damage in the GSA holder ? Want to make sure it has not been tampered with.

Thanks for help.

Personally, if the damage wasn't noted in the auction, I'd return it. There are way too many fully intact and nicer GSA Morgans that can be had for an extra 20-30 bucks. The marks on the cheek of that coin are pretty harsh, and while the fields are nice, it probably brings the grade down to a 62. You paid about $20 more than I would pay for the holder without the "uncirculated" designation.

I wouldn't be worried about the authenticity of the coin, cracking these out will create a long crack down the edge of the case.

For an example on what you can get with patience or good connections, I got this for 180 very recently.

He didn't mention the cracked corners but you can clearly see them in the pic.

I personally bye the coin, not the holder so this wouldn't bother me.

But if this really bothers you than the description says if your not 100 percent satisfied you can return it for a refund or exchange it.

The decision is yours.

It looks like I will return the coin. Coins were supposed to be Choice BU++ and didn't want the damage on the case to be problem later down the road if I have to get rid of it.

Thanks everyone.
