Hey everyone,

I have a few more coins I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with. My father went away on a business trip to Saudi Arabia when I was much younger. He bought these down some random back alley and gave them to me when he returned. We have always wondered what they are. I know the
Pictures are the greatest but the coins seem really old and worn so there wasn't much to photograph. I hope someone can help :) thanks all!

Unfortunately, your bottom coin appears to be a brass replica of an ancient silver coin. The design is that used by Seleucid king Demetrios II on his silver drachms and tetradrachms - see example number 2 on this Wildwinds page for a close match. Unfortunately, both the off-yellow colour and the little blob of metal attached to the rim of the coin, visible near the top of the picture, indicate to me that this is a cast replica, exactly the kind of thing the locals "down the back alleys" of the Middle East like to sell to tourists. Sorry.

The other coins are much later, small bronzes from the Islamic period (either Mamluk or Ottoman, perhaps even Indian would be my guesses), and are likely to be genuine. Clearer pics, as well as a clear indication of both sides of each coin, would be helpful in identifying them further.

Hi Sap,

thank you for your reply! I had a feeling they might be fake but I think I'll keep that to myself since my father is so very proud of his "finds" :) here's a few more pictures that might help to identify the rest of them. thank you so much for the help :)
