I am trying to broker a LOT of Franklin mint sets and albums of first issue pages with coins and history. They are beautiful and I would think worth more than just spot.

Where would you suggest I try to market them, except for ebay?

Only place that shows any interest in writing on their web site. http://www.exonumia.com/frankbuy.htm

You may be disappointed as with any of those mass produced "collectors Items" They are mostly only worth what a party that wants them will pay. whether it's the bars, tokens/coins,plates or models, or the ceramic figures.

I agree. Unless you have one of the very few rare sets.....& can find a buyer....these are pretty much bullion. If they aren't PM resale value is non-existent.

You will see that any coin, medal, or ingot issued by the Franklin Mint with ties to Hawaii is of interest to Hawaii collectors.

However, these collectors are interested in breaking up sets for only the Hawaii related issues. They are also looking for Mint in Package (MIP) issues (still intact in original Franklin Mint packaging).

Several of the Hawaii related Franklin Mint issues are actually listed in the "bible" for Hawaii collectors: Hawaiian Money Standard Catalog 2nd Edition by Medcalf & Russell. (50 items cataloged).

It's interesting that NGC advertises that they will encapsulate/grade items in this book. This means that it is possible to get certain FM issues slabbed. I've never tried to do this and may send them an email for clarification.

I actually wrote a book that expands the Medcalf & Russell book with the Hawaii related issues (they actually missed listing several items struck prior to their book release date). The Hawaii FM issue is now 114 issues. Google ISBN 150772554X

There is an interesting twist in collecting FM issues. Collectors are familiar with Series Collecting and Type Collecting. A new type of collecting has evolved with Hawaii FM issues https://thehawaiiananumismatist.fil.../10/pihi.jpg:

A FM example is shown here...
