Seems extremely unlikely to me, but I don't know much about banknote errors.

In my opinion, I would say no.

Most likely, someone used an eraser and did it themselves.

No. These notes are easily damaged/altered with acetone...

I've read in the Australia section about people altering their polymer money and selling as errors. I believe like SPP said, with acetone.
