Grade? Has it been cleaned? What's up with the random spots where it's not toned?

Its a beautiful looking coin. The toning looks less on all the high points so there may be a bit of wear there.

There is a slight amount of wear on the emu's feathers.
Australian grading EF.
Sheldon AU55.
The blotchy toning detracts from the eye appeal a bit, and so a slight loss in value , but not much in this case.

I don't think it has been cleaned at any time since issue.
with all previous posts.

I don't particularly like toned coins because the toning tends to mask the defects in a coin.
However I will put my neck out and call this one good aUNC or maybe even unc.
AU58 at least
The blotches in the toning are probably due to some clown rubbing it lightly between their finger and thumb.

The toning looks shallow, this indicates either it has been cleaned and since retoned, it was artificially toned or it was photographed under uniform light.
