Looks like a struck through error. Not how wide the disappearing devices look. They are wide because the die was partly filled in that area on the "B"

Coop,
Would the rim be flattened like that if it's a struck-through grease? Could it be a tapered planchet? Just wondering, thanks.

On a tapered planchet the thickness of the coin is reduced from being rolled thin, but it is usually on one area of the coin. I see weakness on 3:00 and 9:00 on both sides? There appears to be a lot of missing letters on the reverse. If it were a tapered planchet, it would lower in weight than a normal coin. If the weight is normal then it would be a struck through error (grease) or low pressure strike (mild). I would hang onto this one for now.
