Looking For Some Opinions Morgan Date?

gweidion Valued Member Australia 134 Posts	Posted 09/10/2013 06:38 am Hi, I'm not a very good collector but was looking at this Morgan and to me it seems like the date might be a hatchet job. I'm fairly new to Morgans so I'd value other people's opinions, especially if they are long time Morgan collectors. Photo quality isn't brilliant and I've zoomed in a lot. kanga Pillar of the Community United States 5825 Posts	Posted 09/10/2013 09:25 am IMO it's a legit 1888 that got slightly beat up. I see no profit in converting another date to 1888. The only other possibility I can imagine is that it was a "practice" coin done by someone who had a bigger plan in mind. Report this Post to the Staff
