I've bought several slabbed MS66 Lincolns off ebay over the last few months. Probably about 75% of them have been PCGS and the other 25% NGC.
I don't have a lot of experience grading MS coins, so that's why I turned to slabbed coins.
Many of the PCGS coins seemed to make me think, "are you serious? THAT'S a MS66?". Were it not for the slab, I would have thought some of the coins only graded MS64 or 65.
I haven't felt that way about the NGC coins, though.
It sure looks to me like NGC has a higher standard for MS66 than PCGS does.
Does anybody else have any experience with this specific issue?
The ironic part is that the PCGS coins consistently sell for a higher percentage than the NGC's, usually about 10 - 20% more for the PCGS's.
I recommend searching the NGC coins for bargains, since other buyers seem to have a preference for PCGS coins.

I have a feeling that your experiance would not be uncommon ,, nor would it always favor NGC.

this in essence is the problem I have with TPG's in general ,,there is no consistency .

I have two PR-69 Jeffersons sitting on my desk right now both in PCGS slabs both with very obvious hits in prime focal areas of the coin ,,I bought them to crack out and add to my collection, but they will not be !! and Now what do I do with them ? If I sell them on ebay my conscience will not let me list them without an accurate description but they are not nor ever were PR-69's.

your in the same boat with the MS-66 lincolns ,,if they are not 66's the premium value drops considerably and as far as a grade guarantee from PCGS ? I cant see that happening .
