Finally added a 1933 2 Mark Birth of Luther to my German Third Reich set. Have been on the lookout for awhile for one that was in decent shape and that wasn't grossly overpriced... not an easy combination Pretty happy with the cost versus quality.

No... No he was not :) Oh, I forgot to add, there is a nice golden tone (which is slightly visible in the pic) and a huge amount of luster (which sadly is lost in the picture).

Maybe not, but that may also depend on whether is depicted as a young guy or an old man. ;) For the 500th anniversary of his birth, the Federal Republic of Germany (back then W. Germany) and the GDR (E. Germany) issued these coins that show him a little differently:

Picked up the other commemorative I was after, 175th Birth of Schiller. Figured Id just tack it here rather than start a seperate thread. Blinding BU++ with cartwheel for days (although once again would never know it from the photo).
