This coin was shown to me by an old man in my village.

One of his carers found it in a drawer.

Can you identify and grade it, please ?

It's copper, its diameter is 17mm to 18mm and it weighs 5.96g.

My apologies if the images are the wrong way up.

Thank you; the old man was delighted, even though he had thought it was about 1,000 years old !

While I was there, I noticed 2 coins hiding below the chest, one was a British India rupee dated 1862, the other I know not what - I'll post it soon.

I don't see Indian native coins very often, but it would be nice to be able to identify them.

Is there a website that you would recommend, please ?

Zeno.ru is the most comprehensive oriental coin database out there. It won't give you values or anything - but it will help narrow down the exact identification

Bacchus2,
Trouble with zeno.ru is that it's not user friendly, and other than looking at pictures, I can't see how to use it.

Zeno is very good - if you are able to start with a rough idea of what you are looking for.
