I forgot to mention that it weighs 13.3 g which I think is about right and that it is non-magnetic.

First off  to CCF. It looks authentic in my opinion. Capped Bust Halves vary considerably due to the minting processes of the time. Many have weak/uneven strikes and the dies used to strike them were used for a long time before being replaced, thus die cracks and latter die states.

The stars being attached to the rim is characteristic of overused hence worn dies. And the missing dentils are from the same cause.

Looks good to me just a different strike; coins from this time period had faulty strikes most of the time. Cool piece!

Thanks everybody!! I recently started a 7070 and was able to snag this coin BELOW melt for a hole filler! That's why I had a few concerns. Coin in hand, it seemed authentic but the lack of denticles put that sense of doubt in my head. Thanks for clearing that up for me!
